Shared prosperity and impact that endures

Black downward-pointing arrow

OUR INTENTION

At Puerto Los Cabos, we work to be a positive force within a larger ecosystem—designing, developing, and acting with the goal of creating environmental, social, and cultural impact that endures.

We seek to foster net-positive relationships with all stakeholders—local communities, nature, government, and partners—while regenerating the systems around us wherever they have been strained or depleted.

We envision a cultural epicenter that shows what becomes possible when deep intention and hard work are placed in service of joy, creativity, inspiration, and life itself.

We strive to build a community and gathering place that will inspire great ideas and meaningful connections, generation after generation—a place whose relevance and value only grows with time, and which shares that value with the broader region and the world.

We come with the purpose of nurturing a culture of peace, and we recognize our responsibility as stewards of land with immense natural and cultural significance.

We also honor our responsibility to those who trust in us—families who have called this place home for generations, the surrounding ecosystems, government partners, employees and investors—by working to create shared prosperity.

Our intention is to enrich this land and community—not to surpass its natural beauty or cultural depth, but to complement it with heartfelt creativity, culture, community, and hard work—so that Puerto Los Cabos becomes a lasting platform for sustainable prosperity, meaningful development, and shared joy for generations to come.

Sustainability framework

Our sustainability framework is a dynamic guide that integrates economic, social, and environmental priorities into a unified vision.

Each petal represents a key focus area, and their intersections reflect the balance we seek to achieve: enhancing livelihoods and well-being, fostering cultural vitality, promoting efficient resource use, ensuring environmental sustainability, and cultivating safe, thriving communities.

This comprehensive approach anchors our impact projects, ensuring that every initiative strengthens our commitment to resilience, regeneration, and shared prosperity.

At Puerto Los Cabos, we accompany and support La Playa Community Center, a space that since 2015 has opened its doors to more than 400 families from La Playa, Rincón de la Playa, La Choya, Las Ánimas, and San Vicente.

Originally created as a space for children artistic exploration, it quickly expanded to offer diverse programs addressing community needs and promoting environmental stewardship.

Since then, the center has served over 1,500 individuals through 12 programs, with more than 15,000 participations.

The Community Center operates under three pillars, each hosting various programs.

LEARNING GARDENS

A key initiative of the Community Center’s Well-being pillar, the Learning Gardens Program connects children, youth, and adults with nature, healthy food, and sustainability through hands-on garden experiences. More than growing food, these gardens serve as living classrooms where participants learn cooperation, responsibility, and care for the environment.

What We Do

  • School Gardens: Partnering with local schools, we install gardens and guide students and teachers in growing crops while learning nutrition and sustainability.

  • Community Gardens: Our center garden brings families together to grow fresh food, build connections, and practice sustainable agriculture.

  • Environmental Education: Workshops foster ecological awareness, sustainable practices, and urban food security.

  • Healthy Eating: We promote fresh, local produce to support nutrition and community well-being.

social infrastructure

Over the years, Puerto Los Cabos has made strategic investments in social and urban infrastructure to strengthen the well-being, connectivity, and shared value of local communities and the destination.

These efforts are reflected in the creation and maintenance of parks, trails, roads, and public spaces that promote active living and encounters between residents and visitors, as well as in projects that improve mobility and regional integration—including the fundamental participation in the construction of the bridge connecting the town with San José del Cabo, new roads and safe crossings to the eastern communities, and landscaped corridors that integrate La Choya, La Playa, and Las Ánimas into a more harmonious environment.

In the coastal area, we have promoted the plaza and public park, along with the refurbishment of the beach, which allows everyone to swim safely within the protection of the breakwaters which is Blue Flag certified for meeting the highest international standards of sustainability and safety.

In 2025, we inaugurated Parque Deportivo La Playa, a reforested space equipped with courts, trails, a plaza, and rest areas, open to the entire community. These are just a few examples of an ongoing commitment to building an environment of shared prosperity, with new projects on the way that will continue to strengthen the region's comprehensive development.

The Parque Deportivo La Playa was donated by Puerto Los Cabos and Fundación de Pablo as a public park providing a community space for La Playa, Rincón de La Playa, and surrounding neighborhoods.

Open to the public in 2025, it features a baseball field, a large soccer field convertible into two smaller fields, a central plaza, restrooms, parking, and walking trails.

la playa COASTAL Community

La Playa and its surrounding neighborhoods have a long-standing history as a fishing community. We have strived to build strong ties with local fishing groups, recognizing the vital role they play in the region’s economy and culture.

In 2012, the Marina of Puerto Los Cabos built essential fishing infrastructure to support the local community, creating improved facilities and services for their use.

In August 2022, we began a collaborative effort with NOS Noroeste Sustentable. Together with fishing cooperatives and permit holders, we participated in workshops and working sessions facilitated by NOS. These activities allowed us to define a shared vision for the short and medium term, one that reflects the perspectives of all participants, in order to improve the management of the section of the marina assigned to community members.

Through this initiative, we identified needs and opportunities that promote harmonious coexistence. By sharing spaces and working hand in hand with the fishing community, we learned that a shared vision not only creates value for everyone and strengthens our relationships, but also contributes to healthier marine environments. These collective efforts reflect the spirit of Marine Prosperity Areas: bringing people together to balance ecological restoration and human well-being.

Enseña por méxico

Leadership and education for community development

Enseña por México drives long-term educational and social transformation, strengthening communities through leadership and collaboration. In partnership with Puerto Los Cabos, it promotes holistic development in local schools through the work of Professionals of Enseña por México (PEM) — agents of change who serve in vulnerable contexts to create opportunities for learning and well-being.

This collaboration is grounded in a theory of change that seeks to influence multiple levels of the educational system — classroom, school, and community — to foster systemic change, where education becomes a driving force for equity and sustainable development. Through school projects, leadership workshops, and place-based learning experiences, students and teachers strengthen their sense of belonging, social awareness, and commitment to their territory.

The partnership with Puerto Los Cabos reflects a shared vision: that true progress begins when education, community, and sustainability move forward together, building a more just and resilient future for Los Cabos.

The Gulf of California, often referred to as the “aquarium of the world,” is home to extraordinary marine life and a source of regional identity; We support the stewardship, committing to a vision of shared prosperity where healthy oceans and resilient communities thrive together.

Through our Azul Pacífico program, we promote marine restoration, sustainable fisheries, and community-led initiatives that connect ecological health with human well-being. By collaborating with fishermen, schools, and local organizations, we inspire younger generations to view the Gulf as integral to their heritage and future. For us, caring for the ocean means fostering identity, security, and shared prosperity for Los Cabos and the broader Gulf of California.

Cultura Oceánica encompasses environmental education and community integration initiatives such as Foro Azul Pacífico, an annual forum on ocean conservation and education that welcomed over 200 participants in 2025, and Escuela de Aletas, which engaged 134 children from the local community, fostering early awareness and connection to marine life.

As part of the Cultura Oceánica pillar, we have Foro Azul Pacífico, a forum that brings together diverse voices and sectors to co-create systemic solutions for ocean conservation. Through dialogue, scientific outreach, and the celebration of ocean culture, the forum connects people with the sea, raises awareness of pressing issues, and inspires a cultural shift toward greater care and stewardship of marine ecosystems.

estero

Puerto Los Cabos lies alongside one of Mexico’s most valuable wetlands: the San José Estuary—an oasis of international importance recognized for its cultural heritage, water security, biodiversity, and role as a refuge for migratory birds. By sharing its borders, we embrace the responsibility of being stewards of this ecosystem and are fully committed to its long-term conservation. As part of this community, we have supported local government initiatives, NGOs, and social organizations through clean-up campaigns, habitat maintenance, equipment and resource donations, and collaborative projects that strengthen the protection and resilience of this natural legacy.

Through La Playa Community Center, we promote environmental education and birdwatching programs that connect children and youth with the Estuary’s biodiversity. By inspiring new generations to appreciate and care for this Ramsar (Convention on Wetlands of International Importance) especially as Waterfowl Habitat, and IBA (Important Bird Area) recognized sanctuary, we help ensure that the identity and future of San José del Cabo remain rooted in the life of the Estuary.
